Charlton Street School will be having its annual Winter/Holiday concert on Wednesday, December 23 at 1:15 pm in the school's gymnasium. Students will be performing for parents, family members, and friends. Come and enjoy this festive treat!

Charlton Street School held its annual Family Math Night on Wednesday, December 2. Friends and family members joined the students and staff of CSS for a fun filled evening exploring math!

Charlton Street School held their annual Honoring our Veterans program on Tuesday, November 10. This program honors all veterans who have served their country in the armed forces. Students gave outstanding performances in this touching tribute. Visit CSS's webpage to view a slide show on this event.

The STUCO Halloween Party will take place on Thursday, October 29th, from 6-8 pm at Southbridge High School. The cost for participants is $3.00 for age 12 and under and $5.00 for over 12. Activities include a haunted hallway, games, and crafts.

Charlton Street School held their annual V.F.W. Dictionary Presentation to third grade students on Wednesday, September 30. The dictionaries were donated by the V.F.W. and the Worcester County Memorial Park. Classroom teachers presented them to their students during this greatly appreciated assembly. At left is V.F.W. Charlton Street School had their 20th annual Hot Dog Cookout for students on Tuesday, June 16. This annual event was provided by the Knights of Columbus. Students were served hot dogs, chips, a beverage, and an ice cream sandwich!

Charlton Street School held its annual Flag Day celebration on Friday, June 12. This annual event is in recognition of Veteran's, Memorial, and Flag Days. Students celebrated by singing various patriotic songs.

Wally, the Green Monster, the official mascot of the Boston Red Sox, visited Charlton Street School on Tuesday, June 9, to promote the Red Sox summer reading program and as a reward for the Reading Incentive Program at the school. The children read 5000 books since March.

The Southbridge Elementary P.T.A. held their annual Reach Out and Read Day on Friday, June 5 at the three elementary schools. The readers were community members as well as National Honor Society and Student Council students from Southbridge High School. The Southbridge Elementary P.T.A. provided and donated each book selection to the classroom. There were over sixty readers this year! Pictured here is Superintendent, Dr. Dale M. Charlton Street School held its annual Career Day on Friday, May 29. Guest career speakers from various agencies and businesses throughout the Southbridge district spent their time in the classrooms with students discussing their education and experiences in their careers. CSS thanks all the guest speakers for their time and knowledge.

CSS held their 3rd Grade Spelling Bee on Wednesday, May 27 in the school's cafetorium. Participants were the winners of their individual classroom spelling bee. There were two winners from each 3rd grade class. Children were presented with some very difficult words and needed to spell them correctly. Nadine from Mrs. I-L's class was the 1st place winner. Josh from Mrs. Giardiello's room took 2nd, and Robert, also from Mrs. Giardiello's room, placed 3rd. Congratulations to all participants and winners.

An ice cream sundae party was held on May 22nd for all 3rd grade students at Charlton Street School in recognition of 100% participation on MCAS testing in English language arts and math!

Everyone is invited to listen to the wonderful singing voices of the students of Charlton Street School on Friday, June 12 at 9:15 at the Gazebo at CSS. This annual event is in recognition of Veteran's, Memorial, and Flag Days. Bring a chair and have an enjoyable morning!

Johnny the K visited CSS to entertain the students and staff. His show, I Can, I Am, and I Will was enjoyed by all. Johhny the K promotes the priniciples of the Peacebuilder program, respect, good citizenship, and confidence,  through active involvement with his audience.  This show was provided for by the P.T.A.

The Pawtucket Red Sox held their Student Recognition Game on Thursday, April 30. Students from Charlton Street School were honored for their outstanding efforts in academic improvement! The students recognized were: Michael Bishop, Jade Chlapowski, Xavier Cubi, Lina Gonzalez, Olivia Howe, and Cameron Stella.
